I found Joseph Duffy’s article, Providing Incontinence Products the Right Way, HME Business informative and accurate. While reading this article, with its statistics and product challenges, it was clear to me that you could easily replace “incontinence” with “toilet safety” – my favorite topic!
Joseph stated “Education is essential”, and that could not be more accurate. The customer will be hesitant to share their frustration and embarrassment, after all, no one is comfortable talking “toilet talk”. An educated staff will be able to guide the customer to the product or products that best suit their needs. It is also time to educate the customer that there is finally a solution for toilet safety in any bathroom – at home, in the homes of others, in public restrooms, and when travelling.
